You can influence who becomes your best friend by sending snaps and encouraging specific friends to interact more with you, if you want to remove a best friend there are two ways of doing this..

..here’s how:

1. Blocking and Unblocking Them.

The quickest way to clear someone from the Best Friends list is to block them on Snapchat and then unblock them.

This action resets the score that determined their Best Friend status.

Keep in mind that using this method will remove all previous interactions and reset the score completely.

To block someone on Snapchat:

  1. Open the Snapchat app on your device.
  2. Go to the Chat screen by swiping right from the Camera screen.
  3. Locate the chat conversation with the person you want to block.
  4. Tap on the person’s name or Bitmoji to go to their profile.
  5. Tap the three vertical dots to open the menu.
  6. Tap ‘manage friendship’.
  7. From the options provided, choose “Block” or “Remove Friend.”
  8. Snapchat will ask for confirmation. Tap “Block” again to proceed.
  9. The person will be blocked, and they will no longer be able to send you snaps or view your stories.

Then to unblock them:

  1. Open the Snapchat app on your device.
  2. Tap on your profile icon in the top left corner of the Camera screen.
  3. Go to “Settings” by tapping the gear icon in the top right corner.
  4. Scroll down and find the “Blocked” section under the “Account Actions” category, it is the 4th option from the very bottom of the settings menu.
  5. You will see a list of blocked users. Locate the person you want to unblock.
  6. Tap on the ‘x’ next to the person’s name or Bitmoji.
  7. A confirmation screen will appear. Tap “Yes” or “Unblock” to confirm.
  8. The person will be unblocked, and you can now send and receive snaps from them again however they will no longer be marked as your best friend – the yellow heart or smiley face emojis will be gone.

2. Decrease Interaction If you want someone to disappear from your Best Friends.

Start sending and receiving fewer snaps from them.

Over time, as you interact more with other friends, the current Best Friends will be replaced, and their status will disappear from the list.
