Before allowing you to request access to your data Snapchat will need you to sign in again. This is to verify that someone else isn’t using your phone and trying to steal your data.

5. Fill Out The Form And Tap ‘Submit Request’

Input the email that you want your data sent to, you can also set a date range if you want to.

If you want to get all your lifetime data then turn the slider off next to where it says ‘Filter your export by date range’.

6. Check Your Email

You should receive an email almost instantaneously, click the link in the email to log in to your Snapchat account.

This will take you to this page;

Click on the mydata~XXXXXXX.zip link next to where it says ‘Your Data Is Ready’.

7. You Have Your Data

You now have a .zip file of all your Snapchat data.

Open the file and you will see four folders:

  1. chat_media
  2. html
  3. json
  4. memories

Chat_media and memories folders contain all your images.

Html contains things like your messaging history, bitmoji data, profile information and loads more.

The json folder contains the same data as the html folder just in a different file format.

What Does ‘No Name’ Mean On Snapchat Data?

If you have downloaded your Snapchat data and see mentions of ‘no name’ in it this is because the user has either blocked you or has permanently deleted their account.

This prevents Snapchat from listing their username in your data.

What Does ‘Last Modified Timestamp’ Mean On Snapchat Data?

The “Last Time Modified” date that you will see in your data refers to the last time a document or media file was changed.

In most cases it will be the same as “Creation Time Stamp”.

However if you are looking at Snapchat friends data you may see different Creation and Last Modified time stamps.

This is because the creation time stamp happens when you first interact with them, a different last modified time stamp can occur if they are removed from a group, deleted, blocked or re-added.
